The Newsletter of the Presbytery of New Brunswick Social Witness
The Social Witness Committee bears witness to God's gift of love in Jesus Christ by signifying
the peace, justice, light and love of the Kingdom of God that Christ proclaimed. The Committee
seeks to fulfill one of the great ends of the church by promoting social justice righteousness
through (1)focusing the attention, education and efforts of the Presbytery on one or two particular social justice issues at any given time - to enable the Presbytery to work together in its expression of social witness - and (2) encouraging, assisting and networking individuals and congregations within the Presbytery in their work for justice and peace. Camp Johnsonburg Summer 2008

Registration Now Open!

Camp Johnsonburg, a ministry of the seven New Jersey Presbyteries, is now accepting registrations for our 2008 summer program.  We have programs for campers from grades K – 12.  For a full look at all of our offerings for this summer, please visit: http://www.campjburg.org/summer/.

When your children attend one of our camp sessions, they will meet new friends, work under the guidance of a select and well—trained staff, and learn ways to make good choices.

Camp Activities

A typical day at camp includes Bible Study and other activities like swimming, boating, arts & crafts, hiking, games, a trip to our ropes course, and/or archery.

What Kids and Parents say about Camp Johnsonburg

-“It’s a fun, safe, nurturing Christian experience.”

-“Camp makes you feel welcome, unlike some other places we

may encounter.  People want to be your friend and get to know

  you, and that is awesome.”

Summer Theme

This summer’s theme is “Hanging out with Jesus” and we’ll use scripture, stories, and discussion to look at our relationship with Christ, who Jesus spent with and what that says about who we should be hanging out with.

The value of Christian Camping

In 2002 the national Presbyterian Church surveyed Presbyterians across the country and one of their findings was that for over 50% of pastors and laypeople, a camp and conference center was the site of a singular faith-enhancing experience.
